The James Cameron Rolex was developed in 2014 to celebrate the director's impressive solo dive to the Mariana Trench a few years prior in 2012. During his dive, Cameron was wearing a Deep Sea Rolex on his wrist. So it's no surprise that Rolex chose the same model to celebrate the history-making dive. Its feature set includes an exclusive D-Blue gradient dial that was designed to mimic the way light travels through water at varying depths. The result is a truly exquisite ombre design that has since become a highly coveted feature among used Rolex collectors in-the-know. The ref 126660 is a newer-model James Cameron Sea-Dweller Deepsea that also includes a ceramic bezel insert, Chromalight plots on the dial, and a brand new calibre 3235 Perpetual movement with high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, a Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, a more efficient skeletonized Chronergy escapement, and a 70-hour power reserve.
