Description: Rolex Datejust 1601
Pre-owned Rolex Datejust ref 1601 (1969) has all the hallmarks of a classic vintage Rolex, including the famous Pie Pan dial with sloped edges, Tritium that has since aged to a warm honey color, and an older-style acrylic crystal. Of course, there's the case with narrower lugs and older-style Jubilee bracelet. This model is incredibly sought-after among collectors in the know because it also features what is commonly called a "Sigma" dial, indicating that the hour markers and hands are made from white gold, a feature that would otherwise be indistinguishable from stainless steel were it not for the Greek Sigma letters flanking either side of the T SWISS T text at the very bottom of the dial—a unique and fascinating collector's item.

Stunning good looks. The slate dial is a bit more understated than the silver, gold, or black datejust dials, which I feel is important. The dial color pairs well with the bracelet or any brown or black leather straps.
Serial Number 2801936 is the one that I own. It is a complete set with box and papers. Unlike the version, shown in the photo, I have no luminescent hands. Great timepiece and has increased in value from the $255 Price Tag from June 28,1972. P.S. Not For Sale.
